RISD Pre-College Artwork

RISD PRE-COLLEGE FINAL PROJECT

This 11"x14" silver gelatin print was my final project submitted in the RISD Pre-College 2010 summer art show. The 8 print series was focused on people's scars. This girl was my RA and her hands were covered in scars from a childhood incident in which she burnt her hands.

A FEW PIECES FROM MY FINAL COLLECTION
These are my 3 favorite prints from my 8 print collection showcasing people's scars.
They are all 9"x6" silver gelatin prints on 14"x11" museum board.

BASIC DESIGN PROJECT #2
For this project, my class was given a list of about 20 words. From those 20 words, we chose 6 of them and drew out 12 2"x2" thumbnails for each word in sharpie (72 in total). These thumbnails could only include either 4 lines or 4 squares and nothing more. Next, we eliminated 2 of the words and of the 4 remaining, we chose 4 of the thumbnails (16 in total) and enlarged them to 8"x8" and these were made with cut out black construction paper. Finally, we chose one 1 of the 4 enlarged ones for each word (4 in total) and made them again 8"x8" but they were done in black gouache and matted on white museum board with a 1" boarder, so they were 10"x10".

BASIC DESIGN PROJECT #4
For this assignment, we were told to simply make a collection of digital photographs. I choose to do black and white abstract images, all of which were taken either on the RISD campus or Thayer Street in Providence, Rhode Island.
